Polymer Clay Bust, Holding On About Polymer Clay Busts entitled Asian Woman Holding On is a Polymer Clay bust made with a theme in mind. It is not unusual for a piece to speak to you or to have what is termed a voice. When an artist listens, an entire story sometimes emerges. This piece spoke to me of what a moment might be like for a regal african woman kidnapped to be a slave in a foriegn country. The moment of mental tension between rage and fear; sorrow and mourning; loss and bewilderment. The moment where spirit fights between maintaining sanity or slipping into madness.
