The Dragon Slayer was made by combining original photograhs, scanned photos from a book, and a scanned ceramic figurine. Using Photoshop's sophisticated features an artist's finished product can be dramatically different from the native state of the actual items used. For example, the dragonfly was originally brown (click here to see its native state) and it had no shadow. In this day of high tech with the appropriate software and skills, it is possible to alter anything and make it what you want it to be.
